Alon USA

St. Louis, MO (March 1, 2004) Transentric, a leading provider of electronic connectivity and supply chain management services, announces a new client agreement with ALON USA, to provide ShipmentVision services. ALON USA, a subsidiary of ALON Israel Oil Company, will use the visibility software to track rail car shipments from their Big Spring Refinery terminal to customers. ALON has the production capacity to produce 62,000 barrels of oil per day.

“We chose Transentric’s ShipmentVision to help us better track our outbound shipments to consignees, and monitor empty returns and inbound shipments, which will allow us to enhance customer service,” said Tim Spott, ALON USA Asphalt and Solvents General Manager.  “We will now have earlier detection for out-of-route, late and otherwise delayed shipment in transit prior to delivery. This allows us to give proactive reporting to our customers and enough time to develop alternate planning solutions, if needed.”

ShipmentVision provides visibility for supply chain operations by collecting, aggregating and displaying information from all participants, trading partners, carriers and third parties. The software offers inter-enterprise, real-time inventory visibility, plus data control and technical services. ShipmentVision was designed to remove any uncertainty in the supply chain as well as promote the reduction of excess inventories, labor and equipment costs.
