What is ORISS?
ORISS allows suppliers who do not have the electronic data interchange (EDI) capabilities to comply with the railroads' e-commerce requirements. To begin using the ORISS system, you first must contact your customer railroad, and they will issue you a User ID.
ORISS is governed by an association of purchasing executives from all major railroads. The seven participating railroads that use this service are:
- Burlington Northern Santa Fe
- Canadian National
- Canadian Pacific
- CSX
- Norfolk Southern
- TTX
- Union Pacific
